Oh Sea! (Becoming More Me in Maui)

I am a self-proclaimed Nomad, more affectionately called "travel-bug". For the last 3 years I've been on the go traveling to parts of the world that have been calling to me. I started my journey in Hawaii, a very good place to start in MHO (my humble opinion).

Maui, Hawaii was the first place to which I traveled and lingered awhile because it was familiar, and a tropical paradise. I experienced the deepest relaxation and connection with my inner peace. I found my writer's voice there. I started using my pen name of Ella, which stuck as my nickname.

Maui is where I found my regular practice which includes Meditation and Yoga. I've discovered a way to see the world from my heart, with wisdom, with courage and gumption. Spending time in Maui ignited my passion for world-wide travel. So off I went to far away and exotic locations! Now I've come back to Maui for a period of rest and reflection, but am leaving very soon to continue my passionate journey.

Sharing this poem with you brings me great joy. It was written during the start of what has easily become the most intense and beautiful period of my life. I hope you enjoy reading, and if you have a chance to sit by the Sea, I promise it will be worthwhile.

Oh Sea!

Yes!  I can be Me when I sit by the Sea.

Oh, what a way you have with me,

You bring out the finer things I see.

In my heart, I feel love swell as

I gaze at the undulating Sea.

I smile and shine and move in rhythm

with the splashing, foaming tide.

My eyes glisten and I blink as I sit

and witness the harmony.

The Sea’s song that is a vibrant and living

reminder of life that was, and is, and will be.

We are honorary witnesses

of this Ocean tide on the shore.

At our feet

The ebb and flow of the life that began here.

The big life, the grand life, and

yes of my life too.
